Hi guys! Hope you're having a great week! I've been quite busy ... we got another kitten over the weekend! I have been asking for one for oh... about 2 years now, and he finally said yes! She's about 12-13 weeks, silvery black, and absolutely full of energy! I've posted a few photos of her on Instagram. We were a little worried about how Mr. Bloo would handle the new kitten since he's 13 years old, and hasn't been around another cat in 2 years. We couldn't do the recommended introduction because our house is too small to isolate her. There was some growling and hissing on his part the first day, but we're on the 3rd day, and he's starting to tolerate her better. They might not be best friends, but I think she'll be good for him.  Someone that he can show the ropes to!

I'm lucky that at my job I can wear whatever polish I want; it's the one benefit of only have 3 people in my office. The downside is that my boss thinks I'm insane with how much nail polish I own! It's kind of funny... when I worked in call centers, my nails were too short for me to use polish (it was when I was still biting them). Now that I've bitten by the nail polish bug, I have no one to talk to about it. Not being able to talk about polish with others was one reason that I started this blog!

Many jobs require work-appropriate polishes, and today, I've got one of my favorites for you!

Today's polish, "No Power in the 'Verse Can Stop Me" from Lucky 13 Lacquer is inspired by Firefly - a fabulous little television show that was too awesome for its time, and was cancelled too soon (TOO SOON!) Luckily you can catch the episodes on Amazon Prime or Netflix (and if you haven't watched it, I really suggest that you do! It's a space western!)

Happy Memorial Day (or Monday to those of you outside of the US)! In addition to Memorial Day, it is also Geek Pride Day and Towel Day! What is Towel Day, you might ask? Towel Day is an annual tribute celebration of Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I couldn't let the day pass without some nail art for the occasion.

Gradient using Lucky 13 Lacquer "Flops"

This is going to be short and sweet because I am dealing with a kitty that doesn't feel well. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen our little monkey cat. We took him to the vet on Sunday, and then again today. If he's not better by Saturday, we have to take him back. We have to give him subq fluids for the next two days, and do lots of hoping and praying every time we check his litter box. So far, I've only watched the vet give him the fluids, so I haven't had to do it myself yet. I'm nervous but it has to be done. I'll do anything for that lil' kitty!

Okay, so on to my nails... I've got a quick gradient that I did with a couple of "flops" that I've recently purchased from Lucky 13 Lacquer. Sometimes the "flops" aren't what she had in mind, or just aren't up to full release standards... but they are always gorgeous! I picked up several during the latest flop restock, and as soon as I looked at Fire Opal (red-orange) and Citrine (mustard yellow), I saw a gorgeous gradient in the making!

What? A post on Sunday?  What could be the reason for the momentous occasion? Why, it's the day that I've been not so patiently waiting for the last ten freakin' months. Books have been re-read, episodes have been re-watched. All in preparation for tonight's big season 5 premier of Game of Thrones!

Unlike so many other book readers, I'm actually excited that there will be book spoilers this season. Don't get me wrong - I freakin' love the books, but I want to know where the story is going!  Plus I know that even with some spoilers, I will enjoy the upcoming books, whenever they finally come out. In honor of this glorious day, I want to share some of my favorite polishes inspired by Game of Thrones. Hi guys! Today, I've got the first part of the Out of This World collection - the latest collection from Lucky 13 Lacquer. 

The recent craze that has been sweeping the indie nail polish world lately has been flakes. But for the smaller makers, the sheer cost of the flakes has made it hard for them to get on board. Lucky 13 Lacquer had another idea to complete with the bigger indie makers without going broke (and taking a big risk that the flake craze would end as quick as it arrived) - a Kickstarter campaign. Seeing how Lucky 13 Lacquer is one of my absolute favorite brands, it was a no-brainer that I was going to be a backer! Since I'd would be picking up the entire collection anyway, I made sure to pledge at a level where I'd get the collection!

Inspired by our amazing universe, the Out of This World collection is made up of 7 polishes - one cream polish, two chrome flake polishes, three iridescent flake polishes, and one silver flake polish. Today, I am going to show you the cream polish and the two chrome flake polishes.

Hey there! Cooler weather has finally started to make its way to my area, and I am so excited! Fall is my favorite time of the year. The changing of the leaves, going to the mountains to pick up fresh apples, yummy apple cider, and getting to start wearing all of my comfy sweaters!

Today, I have a polish from one of my favorite Indie makers, Lucky 13 Lacquer! This polish, "Accio Lacquer" just reminds me of Fall.
