Digital Nails: Fish Don't Cry

*Purchased by Me*

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I've been insanely tired when I've gotten home from work. I'm still suffering from fatigue (and I wish I could figure out why!), so this is going to be a pretty short and sweet post. But I really wanted to share another polish from the Definitely Not Cute collection from Digital Nails with you!

Nerd Lacquer: Quasar

*Purchased by Me*

Hi guys! I am soooo glad it's Friday! My husband and I have been watching Deep Space Nine, and we're coming to up to the end of the series. I think we have like 5 more episodes left. I didn't watch it when it originally aired, but I'm really enjoying it. I always hate the ending of series... it's so bittersweet. I don't know about you, but I tend to grow to care about the characters!

Today, I've got Quasar from Nerd Lacquer for you which was part of the Spaaaaace collection. I picked this up in the one of the more recent restocks.

Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend! We went to see the new Mission: Impossible movie, and then since I was able to get today and tomorrow off work, we headed down to see my husband's family. Gotta love looooong weekends!

Today, I have a polish from Pahlish's Wood Between the Worlds collection from last year that was inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia.

Love, Angeline: Emeralds are a Girl's Best Friend

*Nothing to Disclose*

Hi guys! I hope you all had a great weekend (and a great holiday weekend if you live in the US)!  Mine was absolutely fantastic.  My husband and I have different days off, so it's rare that we get a day off together.  We got to spend Saturday and Monday together.  On Saturday we went to the farmer's market and to the movies, and then yesterday, we spent the day at Riverbanks Zoo. It was a little too warm for my liking, but it was lovely walking around and seeing all the animals and flowers!

Back in February, I received the Beauty Quartet Box, and one of the polishes that was part of the box was "Emeralds are a Girl's Best Friend" from Love, Angeline. This was a new brand to me, so I was eager to try it out!

Lucky 13 Lacquer: No Power in the 'Verse Can Stop Me

*Purchased by Me*

Hi guys! Today's polish, "No Power in the 'Verse Can Stop Me" from Lucky 13 Lacquer is inspired by Firefly - a fabulous little television show that was too awesome for its time, and was cancelled too soon (TOO SOON!) Luckily you can catch the episodes on Amazon Prime or Netflix (and if you haven't watched it, I really suggest that you do! It's a space western!)

Game of Thrones Inspired Polishes

*Purchased by Me*

What? A post on Sunday?  What could be the reason for the momentous occasion? Why, it's the day that I've been not so patiently waiting for the last ten freakin' months. Books have been re-read, episodes have been re-watched. All in preparation for tonight's big season 5 premier of Game of Thrones!

Unlike so many other book readers, I'm actually excited that there will be book spoilers this season. Don't get me wrong - I freakin' love the books, but I want to know where the story is going!  Plus I know that even with some spoilers, I will enjoy the upcoming books, whenever they finally come out. In honor of this glorious day, I want to share some of my favorite polishes inspired by Game of Thrones. If you haven't read the books or watch all of season 4, you may want to just look at the pretty pictures, I might type a spoiler or two.

Digital Nails: deGrasse’s greener

*Purchased by Me*

Hi guys! When I was growing up, I didn't really like science. Let me rephrase that - I loved learning about science, space, and nature, but hated science classes, at least my high school classes. Blame a Biology teacher who made me eat a crayfish and a Chemistry teacher who made me feel like an idiot (along with showering me in spit while forcing me to sit on the first row). My dislike of science began to fade when I met my husband who is a complete science guy. He majored in physics, worked on getting his Master's in Atmospheric Science, and got me into reading books by Stephen Hawking. He also helps me understand things that I don't quite understand.

All of that science talk leads us to the polish that I want to share with you today - deGrasse's greener from Digital Nails. It is inspired by one of the most prominent faces of science in recent times - Neil deGrasse Tyson. He makes science accessible and cool!

Enchanted Polish: March 2014

*Purchased by Me*

Greetings!  When Enchanted Polish did the restock for March and April, I was driving to FL for vacation, and completely missed it.  I was so upset, and hoped that I would hate the colors!  When the first glimpses of the polishes started trickling in, I knew I was going to be searching blog sales for March; I had to have it!

The Ladies of Peter Pan duo from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Sweet Heart Polish

*Purchased by Me*

Greetings!  My favorite vacation spot is Disney World.  My husband and I have been there many, many different times.  One of my favorite rides is Peter Pan's Flight.  I don't get to ride it nearly as much as I'd like because the wait times are typically insane for it!  My love of this ride was what initially drew me to The Ladies of Peter Pan, the collaboration duo from Sweet Heart Polish and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer.

Liquid Sky Lacquer: Robin Williams Tribute Trio

*Purchased by Me*

Greetings! I'm a bit late with this post, so I hope you'll forgive me.  Last week was Mental Illness Awareness Week.  For most people, mental illnesses are something that they can sweep under a rug and not have to think about,  However for millions of Americans living with these mental illness, they can't escape their reality, or the stigma and misunderstanding around these illnesses.  I've dealt with depression and mental illness for as long as I can remember.  And I know the feeling of putting on a mask of normality in order to hide my illness.  Sadly, it takes the passing of someone as beloved as Robin Williams to open up discussions about mental health.

Shortly after Robin Williams' passing, Carolyn from Liquid Sky Lacquers created a very special trio of polishes that celebrated his life and work.  Inspired by three of his most loved movies, the sales of these polishes was 100% donated to charity - 50% went to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, and the other 50% went to Families for Depression Awareness.  Her goal was to raise $500 for these organizations.  At last count, she had raised close to $5,000.  I want to share these very special polishes with you today.
